The Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (ScII) has signed a cooperation agreement with Sweden’s Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) over its international student exchange programme. Each year, up to 30 ScII students will participate in the KTH Study Abroad Programme (SAP) and spend one semester studying in Sweden.

The agreement was signed on the occasion of the Sweden-Thailand Sustainable Development Forum 2022, which was organized by the Embassy of Sweden together with Business Sweden and the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

The virtual agreement signing ceremony, which was held on June 8, 2022, paves the way for ScII students to enroll in the School of Architecture and the Built Environment and the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at KTH through its Study Abroad Program (SAP). The agreement was signed by Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Executive Director of ScII, Associate Prof. Muriel Beser Hugosson, Head, School of Architecture and the Built Environment, and Prof. Sonja Berlijn, Head, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, KTH. Dr. Pietro Borsano, Deputy Executive Director, Industrial and Global Alliances, ScII and Prof. Stefan Östlund, Vice President for Global Relations, KTH acted as witnesses to the agreement signing.

ScII students will enroll for a minimum of 30 ECTS credits up to a maximum of 33 credits per term. Students must have completed at least two years of study before proceeding to the Study Abroad Program. The agreement will be valid for a period of three years, after which it will be reviewed for possible renewal.

Prof. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University (CU), stressed that ScII’s commitment to promoting innovations was attested by the fact that the School was awarded ISO 56002:2019 on Innovation Management, an achievement that reaffirmed the school’s dedication and commitment to becoming Thailand’s leading innovation driving force. “ScII has deployed strategies designed to achieve its innovation management system, including the creation of an open innovation platform ecosystem for academic and industry collaborations, and we will continue to do so,” the CU President said.

“It is well-known that Stockholm is among the most prestigious startup ecosystems globally and the best in Europe. A culture that encourages being creative and forming connections on the basis of strong education groundwork is an admirable combination,” Prof. Bundhit added.

The event was also attended by H.E. Ms. Ann Linde, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, H.E. Mr. Jon Åström Gröndahl, Ambassador of Sweden to Thailand, H.E. Don Pramudwinai, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, and H.E. Mrs. Kanchana Patarachoke, Ambassador of Thailand to Sweden.
