There is exponential growth in technologies, and the future is not foreseeable. Human progress is fast-paced, and predictions about what lies ahead amount to an “unknown reality.” Amidst all this, today’s young people need to be prepared for a future that is largely unpredictable. At the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (ScII), we equip our students with future skills that will help them navigate that future and confront new challenges as they emerge.

These were the remarks of ScII Executive Director Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai when addressing prospective applicants at the Inside ScII forum held on November 24, 2022. Held on the School’s premises after a gap of two years, the event saw participation from high school students and their parents, who were keen to learn about the philosophy, vision, and admission process of ScII.

“We live in a world that is volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous, often described as the VUCA world,” Prof. Worsak said as he stressed that the centuries-old model of education had to change. The old education model no longer works because “it is no longer possible to acquire knowledge and skills once and then spend the rest of one’s life applying them.” Since the future is difficult to predict, it is better to prepare oneself to become capable of adapting to any future change, Prof. Worsak added. ScII was established for this very purpose and the batch of students slated for admissions in 2023 will be its fifth cohort.

Also interacting with students were Dr. Pietro Borsano, ScII Deputy Executive Director for Industrial and Global Alliances and Dr. Poomjai Nacaskul, faculty member in Applied Digital Intelligence, as well as ScII student representatives.

The early round of admissions to ScII’s flagship four-year program, the Bachelor of Arts and Science in Integrated Innovation (BAScii), is now open. The early admission round for Thai applicants will be open till December 22, 2022. Admissions are based on a composite score based on proficiency in English and Math, a portfolio, and a combined aptitude test and interview.

The Early International Round of admissions will open from 21 Dec 2022 – 6 Feb 2023.
