Beginning 2020, the world will move at an exponential rate from the current digital age to artificial intelligence (AI) to reach maturity by about 2100. By 2050, we will wake up to a world like helpless newborn babies who do not know how to act and react. Hence, it is time to prepare ourselves to face this disruptive and unknown world tomorrow.
These are some of the remarks and long-term prognosis by Professor Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai, Executive Director of the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation (ScII), as quoted in an Opinion article published in the Colombo Telegraph.
W A Wijewardena, a former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, who wrote the article, quotes from an address delivered by Professor Worsak at the Royal Society of Thailand. The article cites Prof. Worsak to conclude the future pathways of development in Sri Lanka.
